How can parents enroll their child in Epic SchoolKids?

Registration is closed for the 2023/24 season. Registration for the 2024/25 season will open in the spring.

 

How do I complete verification for my 2023/24 Epic SchoolKids pack?

Grade verification: If you registered your child/children by the October 11th deadline but have not yet completed in-person grade verification, please make an appointment to visit a Front Range Epic Mountain Gear store to provide visual verification of your child's school grade. Acceptable documents include a school report card, school I.D., school transcript, passport, or birth certificate.

Enrollment for the Epic SchoolKids Colorado Pack is not available at the Frisco Epic Mountain Gear location. Verification must be completed before using the Epic SchoolKids Colorado Pack and cannot be completed at resorts.

 

How often can my child use their Epic SchoolKids Colorado Pack?

The Epic Schoolkids Colorado Pack provides 4 days of skiing or snowboarding at each of the state’s top-ranked resorts; Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Crested Butte. Packs are valid for up to 4 days at each resort and are subject to peak restricted dates.

Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Crested Butte.

 

How do I receive my child's pack?

If you are registering for an Epic SchoolKids pass for the first time, your pass will be printed at the store when you visit to register.

If you are renewing an Epic SchoolKids pass, their Epic SchoolKids pass card from the prior season will be reloaded when the registration is processed.

 

How do I book the free "first-timer" lesson & rental?

Epic School Kids offers one free first-timer lesson and rental package for any participating child who has never skied or snowboarded.

The lesson must be booked in advance. Please call at least 2 weeks in advance of your preferred date to ensure availability!

The free first-timer lesson and rental package must be redeemed as a package and is limited to one total per child (not one per participating resort). Lesson is subject to availability and is only offered at select times throughout the season.

First-Timer Lessons & Rental Availability:

  • Monday, November 27, 2023 – Saturday, December 9, 2023
  • Monday, January 8, 2024 – Friday, January 12, 2024
  • Tuesday, January 16, 2024 – Sunday, January 28, 2024 

Are there any restricted dates?

Epic SchoolKids Pack Restricted Dates:

  • Friday, November 24, 2023 – Saturday, November 25, 2023 (Colorado and Utah restricted only; Whistler Blackcomb not restricted) 
  • Tuesday, December 26, 2023 – Sunday, December 31, 2023  
  • Saturday, January 13, 2024  
  • Saturday, February 17, 2024 – Sunday, February 18, 2024 

 

Is there a deadline to sign-up for Epic SchoolKids?

Yes. Epic SchoolKids is only available for a limited time each season. Registration generally starts in the spring and is open through the early Fall for the upcoming season. Visit the Epic SchoolKids website for more details.

 

Is the purchase of an adult pass required?

No. The Epic SchoolKids Pack is a FREE program for Colorado, Utah, Canadian and Washington State children who are enrolled in Kindergarten through 5th Grade during the 2023/24 winter season. No purchase is required.

Can my child use any of the days of skiing or riding at other Vail Resorts owned and operated resorts?

No. The Epic SchoolKids Pack provides access to the specific region registered only. Please see your region’s access specifics here.

 

What grade must my child be in to qualify for Epic SchoolKids?

  • Your child must be enrolled in Kindergarten through 5th Grade during the 2023/24 winter season to qualify for the 2023/24 Epic SchoolKids program.
  • Children who were enrolled in 5th Grade during the 2022/23 school year do not qualify.
  • Pre-K children are not eligible for Epic SchoolKids.
